Tips For Using Moving Labor
The 1st thing you should do is call ALL ASPECTS MOVING for a free phone consultation. Our profession staff will answer all of your questions, and help you coordinate your move from start to finish. Including helping you determine how many movers you need and what size truck you should rent as well as the best rental truck company you should go with for your particular, or unique situation.
After your free phone consultation, and you decide to hire ALL ASPECTS MOVING. You should reserve your truck immediately to ensure availability for your move date, especially during the busy summer months when trucks rent fast.
Packing your items can be a very daunting task, and it will be more time consuming then you anticipate. Make sure you give yourself enough time to complete this task. Not having your items packed prior to your move date will slow down your move significantly, and will cost you more money in labor. Consider hiring ALL ASPECTS MOVING to professionally pack your items prior to your move date. Hiring us will alleviate a lot of stress from you, and give us a chance to stage the move so we can maximize our time on the actual move day.
Donate or sell unwanted items prior to your move day so your home can be clear of clutter.
Make sure you return all cable boxes, DVD rentals, library books, ETC, prior to your move day. Your moving day will be stressful enough without having these additional task.
Do not leave clothing items in the dresser drawers. This can double the weight of the dressers and increase the likely hood of damage. We recommend putting your clothes in bags. This will make the dressers a lot lighter, and as an added benefit we can use those bags to stuff crevices’ in the truck to make your load tighter, and prevent the load from shifting. Also do not pack books in large boxes, you will be tempted to do this in order to save time, but book boxes are extremely heavy, and you run the risk of wearing your movers out prematurely which will subsequently prolong your move. We highly recommend that you pack books in smaller boxers
to keep the weight between 40-50 LBS
If you disassemble items such as beds, desks, cabinets’ ETC, yourself make sure you put the screws and other hardware in a sandwich bag and tape the bag onto one of the pieces of the disassembled item, so you don’t lose them. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to find the screws to your bed after a long day of moving.
Certain items should not be put on your rental truck. Including valuables such as money, bonds, jewelry, ETC. Flammable items such as propane tanks, gasoline cans full of gasoline, Etc. unlawful items such as unregistered firearms, and drugs.
Stage your move properly, by clearing all pathways throughout your home so the movers can have easy access to move your furniture, also make sure the path leading to the truck is cleared
of snow and ice so the movers can safely move your items without injuring themselves or accidentally damaging your property
Always have a plan B for your larger items when moving into your new place. All items might not fit exactly where you would like them. For example you might have your heart set on your piano
going down into your basement, but if there is a high risk of damage to walls or the piano itself you should have a secondary place in mind just in case. You should also have a plan B in case of
inclement weather. I know after planning for weeks or months the last thing you want to do is reschedule your move, but sometimes if the weather is not cooperating it’s better to reschedule, or delay your move than to risk injury to your movers or damage to your property.
